What are FrontPage® Extensions?
FrontPage extensions allow you to publish your web page directly from the FrontPage application to your site. It is recommended that you use FTP or the File Manager to upload your files to your site instead. You can even use the File Manage's HTML Editor to edit the html files in your site. Microsoft will stop supporting FrontPage Extensions in 2006 so it is recommended that you look for another publishing option if you are currently using FrontPage.
Installing Extensions
When you install FrontPage Extensions, any directories that are Password Protected will lose their Password Protection. You will have to reprotect all previous password protected directories after installing FrontPage Extensions.
Uninstalling Extensions
When you uninstall FrontPage Extensions, any directories that are Password Protected will lose their Password Protection. You will have to reprotect all previous password protected directories after installing FrontPage Extensions. If you have uninstalled extensions and are not able to reinstall, try cleaning up the old extensions first.
